06.06.17 Queen’s Birthday Party
To start our new topic, ‘Big City, Bright Lights’, we were invited by the Queen to enjoy her official birthday celebrations. We first made a Union Jack flag to wave in celebration. Then we went to the Magic Room to travel on the underground to see the Trooping of the Colour. After that, we went back in time to see the Queen’s coronation and we all cheered. Finally, we went back to our classrooms to have a fantastic birthday tea!

28.02.17 Launching Rockets!
Year 1 had some visitors on Tuesday afternoon, teachers from Haven High, to learn more are about rockets. The children learnt how to make film canister rockets and also how to launch rockets using their muscle power. Finally, back in the classroom, they saw a whoosh bottle demonstration to can see how rocket fuel works. A very exciting afternoon!
